Peace Relations Peace relations educate young women about our connection with all living entities on the planet and that our actions affect everyone. We teach and create new strategies to rise above oppressive behaviors such as racism, sexism, classism, and homophobia and learn to honor our diversity. We also look at the power of the media and the influence it has on such issues. We transform antiquated ways of thinking into understanding the beauty and commonalities in our collective diversity. These teachings permeate all areas of young women’s lives such as school and neighborhood affiliations with street gang peer pressure. Through our understanding we are able to come to a place of compassion and inclusivity. We become allies for peaceful change, learning to live in harmony with all and creating healthy peer, family, community and world relations. |
