Menarche Menarche means a young woman’s first blood or first menstrual cycle. We use the term moon cycle, in recognition of our menstrual cycle and its direct connection to the moon. We recognize this menarche as a sacred rite of passage, crossing the threshold into womanhood. We educate young women about how their moon cycle affects them on the physical, emotional, mental and intuitive levels. We address issues connected with body image, hygiene, sexuality, pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and more. We dispel the misnomers around our moon time with knowledge and understanding whereby enhancing the possibility of a smooth and exciting transition into womanhood. We re-remember that our moontime is a time of empowerment, celebration and much more! When we have this understanding we move to a place of acceptance while replacing feelings of shame and denial. |
