Our Story “In 1999, Ancestor’s Daughters came forth in a vision. That vision came out of concern about how I was going to celebrate my daughter Aleah’s high school graduation. I felt as if there should be a rite of passage for such a huge transition in her life.” |

Our Mission Ancestor’s Daughters is an inclusive community movement for the empowerment of all young women and girls. Our intention is to create a safe and encouraging environment that will support in the recognition, realization and implementation of one’s inherent divine purpose in life. |

“So with very little help from ancestral wisdom I found in books and lots of continued visioning, my daughter was able to experience a journey of inner awareness, words of wisdom from her elders, a sense of community and much more than a cap and gown ceremony and after party celebration. Ancestor’s Daughters has grown into an ongoing community empowerment movement. We are non-denominational yet we respect each young woman’s spiritual of religious beliefs.” |

Queen (Linda) Hollins (above right) is the founder and director of Ancestors’ Daughters, located in Long Beach, California. The name Ancestors’ Daughters means that we respect and learn from the traditions of those that came before us. While standing on those traditions we apply new creative ideas that when blended together come to life and become applicable in our every day lives. We learn and respect the traditions of many indigenous traditions.

We recognize that each individual has a unique expression. When we are in touch with that expression we are better able to love ourselves, express higher self-esteem, and we walk in our truth. We are committed to guide, counsel and listen to our young women and girls with open hearts. We are dedicated to activating our highest potential and expanding our awareness of our oneness with our peers, family, our community, our nation and all living beings on our planet. We celebrate our diversity through cultural education, meditation, yoga, journaling, drumming, dancing, sacred ceremony celebration, crafting, retreats and much more… |
